Comey’s Assistant Comes Clean, Says James Ignored Proper Protocol To Set Up Flynn Interview

James Comey is the one bipartisan issue Americans can agree on – everyone hates him. And for good reason.

He let his arrogance interfere with democracy. What many have feared finally happened– an agency with unlimited power and few checks would let it go to its head.

Comey interfered with the 2016 election not once but twice. Each time he made it worse.

Then he interfered in Trump’s presidency as if the voters elected him to be a check on democracy itself. We did not.

And here is how you know James Comey is full of sh*t. He always claims he did it for the right reasons – to protect the institutions of America.

But every case of his malfeasance included him totally disregarding his cherished institution’s rules and procedures.

Like what he did to Flynn. Keep in mind, Trump publicly said if Flynn wasn’t talking to the Russians he would have told him to.

From The Daily Caller:

Josh Campbell, who was Comey’s personal assistant at the FBI, writes in “Crossfire Hurricane: Inside Donald Trump’s War on the FBI,” that FBI leadership had “intense discussion” about how to interview Flynn regarding phone conversations he had in December 2016 with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

“With all the chaos…we thought we might actually get away with sending agents over to the White House to sit down with Flynn,” Campbell quotes Comey saying about arranging the Jan. 24, 2017, interview with Flynn.

Campbell, who left the FBI to join CNN in February 2018, writes that normal FBI protocol for an interview with a high-level White House official would have the bureau send a request to the White House counsel’s office, and then wait for approval to send over agents.

But Comey decided to work around those guidelines in hopes of catching Flynn with his guard down.

“We just decided, you know, screw it,” Comey said, according to the book.
